Power out? Keep the freezer frozen.
Nor’easter, summer blackout, a dead compressor at 2 a.m. Dry ice keeps your food, medicine and inventory frozen until the power comes back. We keep over 100,000 lbs of it ready to go in Queens, and we pick up the phone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
How much dry ice do you need?
Freezers
About 50 lb keeps a full 18 cu ft freezer frozen for about 2 days. A half-full freezer takes less. A longer outage takes more.

In a typical ice chest, dry ice sublimates 5 to 10 lb every 24 hours. Plan on topping it up every day until the lights are back on.
