Using dry ice in an outage

1. Keep the door shutA closed freezer holds its cold for hours. Every time you open it, you lose some.
2. Wear glovesDry ice is -109.3°F. Never touch it with bare hands. Wrap blocks in newspaper or a towel.
3. Put it on topCold air sinks. Set the dry ice on top of the food, not underneath it.
4. Keep the air movingDry ice turns into CO2 gas. Air out the room. Never use it in a closed car, a small closet or an airtight container.
5. Top it upCall for more before you run out. During a big outage, everybody calls at once.
6. Read the safety sheetOur Safety Data Sheet covers safe handling in detail.
